Benjamin Wu, President

Benjamin, currently a 2L, worked last summer in Corporate Development for Marvel Entertainment, the makers of X-Men and Spider-Man. Prior to entering Harvard Law School, Benjamin was a Vice President in the distressed debt and special situations hedge fund business at Fortress Investment Group, an investment firm with over $30 billion in assets, and was Acting CFO for a portfolio company of General Catalyst Partners, a $1 billion Cambridge-based venture capital fund. Benjamin also worked for a few years in M&A boutique investment banking in New York, and started his finance career at the Asian Special Situations Group at The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. Benjamin holds an MBA in Finance from Wharton, as well as dual BSE / BSE degrees in finance and computer science summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania. Benjamin is an avid violinist, triathlete and squash player.

David Moss, Former President & Special Advisor to the Board

David, currently a 3L, spent last summer as an Associate with McKinsey & Company's New York Office. While at McKinsey, David's work focused primarily on private equity research and analysis and go-to-market strategy for a mobile-devices company. Prior to his 2L year, David clerked in the New York office of Fulbright and Jaworski LLP where he participated in a billion dollar private capital raise and assisted on a number of tax and securities related issues. Prior to entering Harvard Law School, David worked in hedge fund businesses at Banc of America Securities and J.P. Morgan Alternative Asset Management, where his responsibilities included business development, sourcing and evaluating investments in hedge funds and developing and implementing portfolio risk management capabilities. David has also worked as a consultant to LodesTone Media and in investment banking with Gerard, Klauer, Mattison. David is originally from New Jersey and received his B.S. in Finance from the Kelley School of Business Honors Program at Indiana University. David is also an avid cyclist, runner, golfer and racquetball and squash player.

David Elihu, VP of Recruiting

David is currently a 2L. Last summer, David worked as a summer associate in the New York office of Sidley Austin LLP. While in law school, David has conducted research on private equity club deals and buyout negotiations, in addition to being involved in other activities on campus. David has prior experience working in Singapore at the Biopolis, an international research and development center focused on the biomedical sciences. At the Biopolis, David worked on increasing the large-scale manufacturing productivity of biotech companies. While he was in graduate school, David worked at the Harvard/MIT Biomedical Engineering Center, where he completed research in cell to cell communication and vascular medicine. David is originally from Beverly Hills, California, and graduated from MIT with an S.B. in Chemical Engineering, and an M.Eng. in Biomedical Engineering. In his spare time, David enjoys playing the piano, playing basketball, and hip hop DJing.

Nick Foley, Co-VP of Speakers and Events

Nick, a rising 2L, will travel to Los Angeles this Summer to work as a Summer Associate at Arnold and Porter. Prior to entering Harvard Law School, Nick worked first as a sales analyst then as a research manager for the Corporate Executive Board, in Washington, DC. In 2006, he returned to his home state of Rhode Island to serve as Deputy Field Director for Senator Lincoln Chafee's re-election campaign. Nick received his B.A. from Brown University in 2004. In his spare time, Nick enjoys playing squash.

Chris Lee, Co-VP of Speakers and Events

Chris, a rising 2L, will work this summer at Octavian Funds, a hedge fund based in New York. Prior to entering Harvard Law School, Chris was an investment associate at American Securities Capital Partners, a private equity investor in New York. Prior thereto, he worked at Morgan Stanley in its Mergers, Acquisitions, and Restructuring Department in both New York and Hong Kong. Chris received his B.A. in Ethics, Politics, and Economics from Yale University.

G.J. Ligelis , Co-VP of Networking and Membership

G.J. is a rising 2L from New York City. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University in 2006 with a degree in History and a certificate in East Asian Studies. At Princeton, he was Captain of the Varsity Sprint Football team and the Editor-in-Chief of The Princeton Spectator. He spent three summers working in the corporate and litigation departments at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP and one summer furthering his Japanese at the Princeton-in-Ishikawa program. At HLS, G.J. is also the Director of Public Relations for HL Central. This summer, he is working at Lehman Brothers in New York City in the Corporate Advisory Division.

Sarah Miller , Co-VP of Networking and Membership

Sarah Miller is a 2L from Nashville, Tennessee. She graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton in 2003 with a degree in History and a certificate in Environmental Studies. She received an MPhil in International Relations from Cambridge in 2004 and she expects to receive her PhD, also from Cambridge, in winter 2008. During the summer of her 1L year, she worked at the Treasury Department¹s Office of Foreign Assets Control, where she worked on sanctions issues pertaining to the global reinsurance industry. She also worked at the China International Economic Trade and Arbitration Commission in Beijing, China. In her spare time, she enjoys travel, cooking, and contemporary American poetry.

Alex Tai, VP of Sponsorship

Alex is currently a 2L. He is originally from the Washington, DC area and graduated from the University of Virginia in 2006 with a Bachelor's in Economics and History. Alex will be working at the Washington, DC office of Wilkie, Farr & Gallagher this summer. In his spare time, he enjoys reading the Economist, playing basketball, and partaking in an occasional game of squash.

Judy W. Yuan, VP of Publicity

Judy, currently a 2L, worked as a summer associate specializing in take-private acquisitions at the Hong Kong office of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. At law school, Judy is the Executive Editor of the Harvard Negotiation Law Review and a principal of HLS TaxHelp, a national IRS-sponsored organization committed to filing taxes and credits for low-income families. Prior to entering Harvard Law School, Judy worked at The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. first with the Financial Institutions Group in the Investment Banking Division, then with the Capital Markets desk. Judy has authored articles published in Asian Legal Business and BroadLit. Judy is a magna cum laude dual degree graduate from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.S. from the Walter A. Haas School of Business and a B.A. in English. For leisure, Judy enjoys photography, tennis and writing.

Eugenio Labadie, Treasurer

Eugenio is currently a 2L. Raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, he studied philosophy and economics at the University of Virginia, graduating in 2006. At law school he has worked on the staff of the Journal of Law and Public Policy and as a research assistant to Professor John Coates. In his spare time he enjoys playing squash.

Octavian Timaru, Director of Technology

Octavian is currently in his second year of pursuing a joint JD/MBA at Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard with a B.A. and M.S. in Computer Science in 2003. Before returning to Harvard, Octavian worked at Microsoft leading a team of developers designing next-generation synchronization services for mobile devices. Last summer, Octavian split his time between the Dallas office of Vinson & Elkins LLP and Wolf Greenfield & Sacks PC in Boston, focusing on corporate M&A and intellectual property litigation, respectively. In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer, reading and fine dining.
